I’m Don, the man behind the art of Livingston Wood Art & Design.
After 25+ years in the Post Production / Television industry, I needed a change.
I longed for creating pieces of art that would last longer than minutes. Something longer than a newscycle. Something tangible. Art that makes me, and other people happy.I have always had a passion for Art, Design and Woodworking. So combining my interests seemed like a logical step to find happiness.
I started in my backyard, and then expanded into a well equipped garage workshop thanks to my sister Maureen and Lyn. Livingston Wood Art & Design is a creative outlet for me to share my creations and love for natural textures, elements and design. Every piece is created with my two hands, using locally sourced materials and ecological practices. We strive to be a zero waste creative solution for people searching for unique gifts and collectibles.

AROUND THE SHOP
Recently, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas from HGTV's Bargain Block at the Festival of the Arts. Bargain Block follows the journey of two creatives who transform rundown properties into affordable, stylish homes for first-time buyers in Detroit.
I admire Keith and Evan for their dedication to revitalizing neighborhoods and providing stylish yet affordable housing. Their hard work is truly inspiring, and it's heartwarming to see them bring areas of the city back to life.
During our meeting, I gifted them a shadowbox I had made, and Keith's reaction was priceless. His genuine appreciation made my mother so proud.
I aspire to collaborate with them one day to contribute to the ongoing transformation of Detroit through dedication, hard work, humility, and art.

SPECIAL ORDERS
Each item is unique, reflecting the nature of the wood it's made from and the life it led. There might be marks and scars in the wood.
To our mind, these only add to the character of the finished piece.
PRODUCT DIMENSIONS:
We usually make our signs in standard sizes, (listed above in descriptions). Precise sizes and details will vary - no two items are identical. In order to capture the distressed aesthetic, we use all wood to it fullest potential.
Per request sizes can vary. With those requests, a new price will be negotiated to accommodate for additional material and labor costs.
PRODUCT LEAD TIME:
We are happy to try and make all orders as fast as possible, on average it takes 1 to 4 working days. Shipping to Europe takes 5-7 days, worldwide shipping 7-14 days. We always try to deliver our products as soon as possible and we do everything we can to affect this.
